Application window
The larger window that lets users interact with an application program, such Microsoft Word or Excel, is called an application window. Typically, it features a frame with a title bar, buttons for maximizing and minimizing, and other common user interface components.
Managing application windows effectively involves a few key actions

1. Maximize
- To maximize windows, double-click the title bar or click the square icon in the window's top-right corner.
- Mac: In the window's upper-left corner, click the green traffic light button.
2. Minimize
- To minimize windows, click the dashed icon. If the window is open, you can also use Windows + Down Arrow.
- Mac: Select the button with the yellow traffic light in the top-left corner.
3. Restoring
- If you're using Windows, double-click the title bar or click the square icon once more to return a maximized window to its original size.
- Click the green button once more on a Mac.
4. Moving
- To move the window to the desired spot, click and hold the title bar.
- To enter move mode, you can also utilize keyboard shortcuts, such as Alt + Space followed by M on Windows.
5. Resizing
- To change the window's size, drag its corners or edges.
- On Windows, you may also resize using the keyboard by pressing Alt + Space and then selecting S.
6. Closing
- Click the red button in the top-left corner (Mac) or the "X" in the top-right corner (Windows).
- Additionally, you can utilize keyboard shortcuts like Command + Q on Macs and Alt + F4 on Windows.
